This Privacy Policy explains how AstroMarks ("AstroMarks", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the AstroMarks mobile application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account and purchase information

If you create an account or make purchases, we may process your email address, authentication identifiers, purchase status, and subscription metadata. We do not store full payment-card details.

1.2 Images and annotation data

The App allows you to capture or upload photos and mark skin points for constellation matching. By default, core matching and visual processing are performed on-device.

1.3 Consented image sharing

Images are only uploaded and stored when you explicitly opt in through consent controls. If you opt in, images may be used only for the specific purposes you selected in-app at the time of consent. We do not use consented images for new purposes without obtaining additional consent. Depending on your selected consent options, this can include product improvement, research collaborations, and dataset development, including possible commercial licensing of anonymized datasets.

1.4 Analytics and diagnostics

We collect usage and reliability analytics (for example: feature usage, events, app version, device/OS metadata, and error diagnostics) to improve quality and usability. Analytics identifiers are kept separate from account identifiers where possible.

1.5 Device permissions

Depending on features you use, the App may request camera, photo-library, and motion access. We use device motion sensor data (for example, accelerometer and gyroscope data) to create UI effects such as parallax. This data is processed locally and is not stored or shared.

2. How We Use Information

We use data to:

provide the App and core features;
maintain accounts and purchases;
improve matching quality and app performance;
monitor and fix crashes, bugs, and abuse;
support research and model-improvement workflows for consented images.

We use trusted service providers that process data under their own terms and policies.

4. Retention and Deletion

4.1 Retention

We retain data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, legal compliance, and operational integrity. Consented images may be retained long-term.

4.2 Limits on deletion after aggregation

If consented images have already been irreversibly aggregated or used in model training pipelines, complete retroactive removal may not always be technically feasible.

4.3 Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw consent at any time in-app to stop future collection of consented images.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data. You may also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing.

6. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, or any higher minimum age required by applicable local law for independent consent. If you believe a child has provided data without valid consent, contact us.

7. International Data Transfers

Data may be processed or stored in countries other than your own. We apply reasonable safeguards for cross-border transfers where required.

8. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected by revising the "Last updated" date and, where required, by providing additional notice.
